The Sarojin has been twice named Asia’s best boutique hotel, and for good reason. Guests are treated to a romantic candle light dinner for two on the beach, a cooking lesson from a Thai cook, or a genuine Thai massage in a room with a view extending across coconut palms to the sea and the horizon beyond. The British owners, Kate and Andrew Kemp, have kept alive the tradition of hospitality begun by the Thai aristocrat, Lady Sarojin. In The Sarojin’s seven two-storey villas, they have combined Asian design with modern elements such as an open bathtub for two, individual gardens, sun terraces and plunge pools. Sarojin lies in a bay protected by coral reefs on a sandy beach eleven kilometers long, about eight kilometers north of Khao Lak in southern Thailand. Official Website
